RANCH IN THE ROCKIES

The author of The Deer Family (1962, p. 692, J-212) and others, records his experiences as a camper in the wilderness of western Canada. En route, he presents much information about the arts of camping, horse training, canoeing, emergency fishing, etc. Many of the illustrations are instructive-- e.g. some important knot tying is shown step-by-step. The author's style of writing is marred by a reliance on cliche, but the facts which he presents will nonetheless be of interest to boys-- especially scouts.
