KIRKUS REVIEW

Edited and illustrated by Glen Rounds, this book combines the mid-19th century western explorer raconteur's two books Adventures in Mexico and the Rocky Mountains and Life in the Far West. The illustrations are marginal drawings, small simple and humorous explications of the anecdotes Ruxton recorded in his travels. For the addict/scholar rather than the Western escape reader, this should have a strong regional market as a companion volume to Trail Drive.
