A book of theological meditations, the chapters in this volume all appeared as articles, most of them in the magazine called The Sign. It is dedicated to those who in one way or another are the victims of evil. Evil under Providence is seen in the light of the mystery of the sufferings and death of the God-Man, and the expectation and religious acceptance of the cross by the faithful Christian is stressed as essential to Christian life and growth. The book reviews the essentials of the economy of salvation, stressing particularly the divinity and personality of Christ and insisting on the theme of God become man that men can be made gods. The treatment is fresh, moving, simple, imaginative and clear. Imprimatur.
