KIRKUS REVIEW

Kent Murdock, camera eye, sent to photograph John Caldwell, Diesel engine magnate, finds that his subject is dead -- his negative has recorded his double. From a tangle of retainers and relatives, material and romantic motives, Murdock selects his killer, gets his substantiation later. No elan vital, but the proficiency which comes with long practice.
