This small volume is a study of the uses of ""life"" and ""light"" as images in the Bible. The author, a priest-biochemist, considers the various passages in which these images occur, and examines them both for literal meaning and for any spiritual content particularly applicable to the spiritual situation of modern man. The work is not so much a study of Biblical imagery, however, as one of Bible spirituality, and Father Kosicki's approach is affective rather than exegetical. The result is a rather closely written, often strangely moving work that should create an audience for itself as a text for spiritual reading or meditation, particularly among the Bible-oriented younger generation.
