Not a book for the man in the street, but a book which every well-informed business man should dip into, if only to find out for himself what twenty years have accomplished in the way of business diplomacy through the International Chamber of Commerce. This body of men, representing industry and business and banking in all nations has worked with the League and apart from the League, not only to study conditions and needs in their individual countries, but to convey to the leaders of their nations, what the international necessities and possibilities might be, and what they might wish accomplished in leveling trade barriers and settling war debts. Often blocked by political and racial and national issues, they have none the less built up a certain prestige and played an important part in world affairs, while succeeding in keeping their reputation of freedom from political manoeuvres. Not easy reading. Filled with meticulous accounts of meetings and procedure, but conveying, as a whole, an impressive picture of one international group working for world understanding and world peace.
