PLANNED PREACHING

A guide for young Protestant ministers and theological students designed to help them in planning their pulpit work for an entire year. The author builds his suggested plan about the Christian year, with the Advent, Epiphany, Lenten and Trinity seasons providing the chief frame-work. However, the book goes far beyond the scheduling of sermon topics and delves into all phases of preparation for effective preaching; the minister's reading, his pastoral work, the conduct of worship, the celebration of the Sacraments. The thinking of the book is in line with current trends in Protestant churches and should be helpful to ministers wishing to lift their preaching out of the hit-or- miss category.
