Nacho, a young Argentinian lad, and his gaucho grandfather inadvertently bring retribution to a group of guerrillas who ten years earlier attacked and murdered a family dear to them. On an exciting trip to Las Flores in which Nacho is permitted to drive heard, Jovita, a pet vizcacha (a large chinchilla) retrieves buried treasure stolen from the ill-fated family, when in a threatening hailstorm she burrows deep into her cave and returns with the valuable jewels. In the style of writing and details of setting, the special character of this region envisioned some fifty years ago, comes across quite effectively.
