KIRKUS REVIEW

The author of The Vatican has done another first rate job in this story of the Italian dictator. It is not a muckraking book -- far from it -- but it is a thoughtful appraisal of the actual accomplishments, a careful history of the amazing career of ambition and ruthlessness, of a brilliant ability to pick other people's brains, and a determination to reach his goal. Since the complete survey of Fascism is rather difficult to get, this book fills a real need, made all the more important in view of the Ethiopian situations, which unfortunately, is just touched upon. The groundwork is there, however.
