In this commentary on participation in the liturgy of the Church, which also sketches in the history of Christian piety, Father Godfrey Diekmann is introduced to the book world. The author is editor of Worship, the ""avant garde"" magazine in its field. Hard covers still reveal much of the magazine writer and seminary teacher rather than a ""book author"", however he writes well about a subject he knows thoroughly, but he presupposes that his reader knows all that has gone before. The uniformed about the liturgy will continue in their state as the ponderous approach will undoubtedly repel them. Even though the title Come Let Us Worship suggests that the uninitiated will profit from reading the book, this is hardly the case. But Father Diekmann does offer insights into the sacramental life which are the distillation of a complete lifetime of furthering personal participation in the fruits of the liturgy. For this alone the book stands as an important addition to any liturgical library whether in the home, the school, the rectory or the seminary.
