Despite its title, this latest photo-illustrated sketch of Romania's young gymnast has more text than Burchard's Nadia Comaneci (p. 1098, J-278). Otherwise the approach is similar and many of the same quotes, incidents, and photos appear in both books. Sullivan uses much of his extra space to describe not only Nadia's crowning performance in Montreal but also her previous victories in the United States and Norway--and an earlier (1974) exhibition in Paris where Nadia, friend Teodora Ungureanu, and their coach were plagued with missed connections, inconvenient accommodations, red tape, and rudeness but ended up stunning all assembled.
