HOW TO OVERCOME

Of interest to the teacher of remedial speech and to the parent with a child who has a speech disorder is this book by a former member of the staff of the National Hospital for Speech Disorders. With the general tone of friendly, easy approach, the book emphasizes relaxation -- explaining the nervous origin of speech difficulties, advising a program for releasing tension, implanting confidence and poise, and easing introverting tendencies. Although actually a program of self-cure, the parent or teacher should find this investigation of the nature of speech defects helpful.
