THE STORY OF A STANLEY STEAMER

Any mechanically-minded boy will discover lots of fascinating material in this story of a search for, and a reconditioning of a 1917 Stanley Steamer. For the author is inducted into the hobby of old cars, digs into automotive archaeology, and, with the purchase of a boiler, tracks down a car to go with it. From then on it is tinkering, and more tinkering, alarums and excursions which led to a sort of benign lunacy, the history of the identical twins, F. E. and F. O. Stanley and their car. There's a lot of fun, too, in this mechanical love story and an elegant sufficiency of motors and motoring to satisfy today's hot-rodders.
