FREDDY AND THE FIRE ENGINE

Another animated book on a slightly older level. It is the story of a fire department at work at a fire. The same sort of format -- plastic spiral binding -- board covers and animation mechanism in all too breakable heavy paper -- but in addition a good many pictures combined with the text, in somewhat postery techniques and three color reproduction. Picture book -- play book level will find the text overlong, even for reading aloud. But five and six year olds -- keen about fire engines -- will like it. Merchandise appeal primarily.
