THE DIARY OF A COUNTRY PRIEST

In diary form the inside story is told of a French curate, his relations with his parishioners, with the other professional men of the district, and of the progress of the disease which gave ground for an insidiously built-up scandal. The slim thread of plot centers around the priest and his endeavor to clear up the hate and misunderstanding between the rich count, his wife and his daughter. For those who like a philosophical and religious background and development, this will have an appeal. Slow in action -- somewhat touching in the picture of the priest fighting the cancer which is destroying him -- limited in appeal. Catholic market, perhaps.
