MAIGRET AND THE CALAME REPORT

The Inspector is secretly summoned by the worried Minister of Public Works Auguste Point. Point had in his hands the only copy of The Calame Report which forecast a disaster that later killed 128 children. Now it has been stolen and there is a flurry of scandal and scuttlebutt concerning the nature of the report and whether or why top government officials are covering it up. Point is about to become the scapegoat unless Maigret can find the thief in one of his most frustrating cases. As always, remarkably real.
