BLUNT INSTRUMENT

When a second murder is a clue to the first, it is justifiable, and the conclusion is forgivable, although it, too, breaks one of the rules. This is a goody about Superintendent Hannasyde's troubles in solving the mystery of ladies' man Ernie and a small time crook. There is a Bible-quoting constable and a shady broker and some other rather entertaining characters. Fair, and good entertainment as well.
