The May Selection of the Catholic Book Club and a book that is bound to be widely discussed. Father Ellard has spent years adapting the European Liturgical Movement to American needs. In this book we see what is being done to bring the laity into worship, to dignify the priesthood of the laity, to make those men and women who worship feel that the Mass is theirs. The backing of Rome and of both Bishops and priests is interesting, and such changes as the open or free altar, the Dialog Mass, Mass after noon, the Offertory Procession, etc., show how desperately hard the Church is trying to encourage corporate worship. Contact the priests in your diocese and ask them to stop in and see this book. It is also an important book for all seminaries and Catholic Colleges.
