Again some softer emotion and concentrated action which flirts with violance, in the triple play between a hellcat, a heel, and the woman who loved him as Odette refuses to marry Peter Rawson until he returns to England and gives up an easy life on the Cote d'Azur, skippering boats for rich women. But Peter, who needs money to buy his way back into his country, hires out to Janet who had once been his mistress, is unable to keep his distance, finds that he has been used in a smuggling racket which ends in a skirmish with the customs officers. And when he does make his break from Janet, back to Odette, it is Odette who sends him on to England alone, in the doubtful hope that he will make a fresh start... A patterned but practised performance which stays on edge with a dead minimum of interference.
