The tension, but not the violence, as before in the story of Johnny and Harry, brothers, and Bob, whose life Harry had once saved, and their close fraternity as Johnny and Bob play nursemaid and warder to Harry, wire-happy after a time in a concentration camp. Through one of Harry's criminal breaks, Johnny meets up with Linda Denby, falls in love with her, and in spite of Bob- and his mistrust of any outsider- tells her about Harry. Harry, meeting Linda, goes for her too- but her refusal precipitates one of his spells, leads to a savage pursuit which ends in his death... Some softer moments, as well some tight ones, make this sustained in sympathy as well as suspense.
