What's behind the cryptic title? An undistinctive time warp story, featuring English Jassy, visiting her grandparents' former gardener and cook while her twin brother and sister recuperate from the mumps. There's not much to do in the country except watch the changing of the manor house next door into a tourist spot, but Jassy stumbles into the past, around Worm War II, when the house was inhabited by a mystery man, his Maman, two dogs, and another social scene entirely. Something's fishy--the mystery man's inconsistent--but Jassy can't put her finger on it until the end when, touring the renovated house, she discovers there were once two young men--twins--living there. A ho-hum disclosure despite the intricacy of detail.
