CHARLIE CHAPLIN, King of Tragedy by Gerith von Ulm

This is one of these ""I could tell you but I wont"", biographies, which is annoying to the reader. When brought down to final analysis, this biography (though advertised as unauthorized) is not as sensational as one expects it to be. Charlie Chaplin's rise from a London slum is a fairly familiar story; his marital career, his position as a father, his extra-marital affair (notice the singular), are all recorded but not amplified. The release of The Dictator (when and where?) may stimulate some interest in this book.
