KIRKUS REVIEW

For each image in the old cradle song, a full-page, full-color illustration with the strong, outlines, the glowing blues and reds of stained glass, echoes of Byzantine solemnity and peasant exuberance. One is altogether itself and altogether wonderful--""the gentle moon the shepherdess"". as a secretly smiling red orb sprinkled lightly with stars and flowers. If it seems a stiff price, for fourteen lines and seven pictures, think of this as something to live with rather than to look through. A lovely gift that libraries will want to sample at least.
