The four seasons, originally in Germany, resemble the four seasons here: animals come and go, sometimes as ""we,"" sometimes as ""they,"" too often in inverted sentences which have an awkward rhythm to the rhyme. The illustrations are enterprising--but the text is more informing than entertaining, and youngsters will notice that first.
