LOUISE'S ADVENTURE: Her Ride in the Subway

This is a very successful picture story book for a city child, or a child to whom the idea of riding alone in a subway seems the peak of adventure. Louise was six; everything that happened to her was magnified into adventure by the mere fact of her being all on her own. The pictures are captivating, too, and Charlotte Becker has made Louise seem a very personable little girl.
