GOING WILD IN THE KITCHEN

When your sporting man brings it back, do not grouse-- just prepare, it in wine: Mrs. Parke's really extensive cookbook, nicely presented too, will help you take advantage of almost anything that grows wild, even nettles or milkweed, as well as the game and fish (bear, opossum, woodchuck, et al.) which come home with the men in your family. The recipes themselves have a gourmet tone-- there are eight ways to prepare frog's legs, or you can make you own smoked pheasant pate. There is a very full selection of sauces for example, a number of specialties, as well as a separate section on the herb garden and its later, usage.
