Gifts From the Forest (1952, p. 260) was a fine textual and photographic study of lumbering. This book follows the pattern of the other to describe the growing of citrus fruits in the Southern states, and the subsequent uses for consumers. Roughly, material is arranged in short chapters on the history and characteristics of the citrus family, actual growing and how the steps differ from fruit to fruit and from locale to locale, harvesting and final consumption. Most of the many accompanying photographs were taken by John Calvin Towsley and they make a good documentary in themselves.
