The director of Marriage and Family Council, Inc. gives here an excellent general book about the subject from a liberal (safely so), intelligent, but not particularly new angle. However, for the layman who does not know the literature on the subject, this is an excellent basic book, sound and comprehensive. The family, the roles of father, mother, children from stages of infancy to maturity; marriage itself, from courtship through the wedding, problems and conflicts --financial, sexual, psychological and emotional. The author draws on actual cases for her findings, and includes -- where pertinent statistical records.
