MEXICO A TO Z

The very handsome illustrations by noted painter Carlos Merida score as examples of modern Mexican art influenced by peasant tradition, as depictions of daily life, and as good design in their own right. They deserve better than this contrived and often quite pointless rhyming text: ""N is for the lovely names that often end in 'ita.' Sometimes Dolores is shortened to Lola or Lolita."" Casting miscellaneous information about a subject into the mold of an ABC book is questionable in any case, but in this case it's downright disastrous.
