SMASH THE WILD BUNCH

It's about 1897, and Oklahoma marshal Evett Nix is in pursuit of Bill Doolin (who has survived the Dalton Gang massacre) and the Wild Bunch. So Nix rehires his old sidekick Frank Grimes and his young brother Chad, sending them out on Doolin's trail. But a Doolin henchman soon shoots the brothers: Frank dies; Chad escapes, with help from young Nella (a former Doolin confederate); the two are pursued (a cabin they've just escaped from is dynamited). And eventually, after Nella is shot and a posse is routed, Chad and Nix team up for the final shootout, in which they gun Doolin down in the dark. Less authentic than other semi-factual Westerns--but fairly lively, especially in the portraits of the sociopathic Bunch.
