JOHANN THE WOODCARVER by Gilmore Wood

JOHANN THE WOODCARVER

By

Publisher: Warne

A slight, quiet story of a sick child and an old woodcarver who invented a cuckoo clock. The pastel illustrations by Margaret W. Tarrant will be the main drawing card. Little Elsa was a cripple in a village in Switzerland, and when old Johann carved her a beautiful little house, she was delighted. But if only there were a clock outside to tell the time! Karl the clockmaker made a lovely clock but it was Johann who thought of the cuckoo bird which should come out to announce the hour.
