KIRKUS REVIEW

The author of LUXURY LINER gives us here a novel that shows distinct advance in both technique and plot development, a book that is sure fire for circulating libraries and should have a good sale over the counter as well. For those who liked THE GREEN HAT, though the psychopathic aspects are less extreme. A good story, sensational, perhaps, well told, plenty of action and sound psychology. The theme is a triangle, two devoted sisters, in love with the same man; the setting, Vienna during and immediately after the war; the viewpoint, that of an older woman, governess to the sisters, tolerant, observant sympathetic.
