LUCK OF THE HOUSE

The Luck of the House was a sword given by a mysterious Arab chieftain to a son of the house of Dunham, during the Crusades. This is an episodic handling of the story of that sword, and the adventures of its owners, from the days of William the Conqueror (before the gift of the sword), down to the Great War. Good adventure, good romantic fiction, which should appeal to boys and girls just emerging from absorption in stories of chivalry. The episodic treatment of the material, while inevitable, may discourage some readers, who avoid short stories, but the connecting link of the family and the sword makes this an easily taken hurdle.
