KIRKUS REVIEW

An amateur expert writes about dogs in general but cockers in particular, the breed she knows best. The pointers she gives apply to most dog owners -- on buying a dog (to buy a good one), on female versus male, on puppies (where to sleep them, how to housebreak them, diet, training, breeding, whelping, showing, finally on sicknesses and treatment. An affectionate, feminine, pleasant point of view makes this nice supplementary reading for dog owners and breeders who are not in the professional class.
