THE BOOK OF STILLMEADOW by Gladys Taber

THE BOOK OF STILLMEADOW

By

Publisher: Macrae-Smith

Harvest at Stillmeadow, back in 1940, introduced me to Gladys Taber and her Connecticut home place -- to her family and her dogs. Since then in various books, Especially Spaniels, and Stillmeadow Kitchen and Flower Arranging for the American Home, I've come to feel as though I knew the whole household intimately. And yet there is still delight, and a sense of discovery, a quiet charm, a wholesome philosophy of living to be found in this ""almanac"" of Stillmeadow -- a round-the-calendar record of things happening, of moods, of the relation of Stillmeadow to the outside world. A book to recommend to people who need- for the space of a few hours- to find peace.
