KIRKUS REVIEW

Hearts and flowers for Janet, Navy Nurse, stationed in a base hospital in New York. There is Philip, who wants to marry her right away -- and Chris, who attracts her more, but who doesn't believe in marriage during the war years. Philip, hoping a uniform will help, joins up, is critically wounded, and Janet in order to pull him through, agrees to marry him. Later he releases her for Chris, and Chris is killed in action. Janet signs up for foreign service under medic Steve, who has his points too. Easy come, easy go! Rentals -- no more.
