Gladys Taber's chintzy country kitchen style has domesticated a great many women through the years and this is an extension and expansion of What Cooks at Stillmeadow. Actually it is a very good general all-around cookbook, with her personal annotations, and its range is from New England to Continental cuisine, low to high calorie, and rustic (Poor Man's Stew) to eclectic (Cornish Hens Rose). Lots of breads, relishes, beverages, everything..... . More than the stove puts a glow on Mrs. Taber's love of the housewifely arts. She is a willing chattel and experienced chatelaine.
