A sequel to Wild Horse in the story of Ben and his new young horse, son of the horse hero of the earlier book. Ben had hated going to school in Boise anyhow, and it seemed harder than ever after Christmas to leave his new horse behind. The love of a boy for his horse finds a way, and Ben works at a riding school after school hours in return for the opportunity of boarding Inky there. He devotes his spare time to training him, despite the discouragement from those who are convinced that only blood will tell, and of course Ben and his horse win out at the rodeo. A fairly contrived story, but it has the ingredients that make horse stories popular.
