With the same style which readers will remember the well known naturalist-author-illustrator tells of the difficulties of learning to be a squirrel, detonates many of the fallacious legends concerning snakes and reptiles and on the whole makes the swamp a less fearsome place. He gives suggestions for those interested in observing life in the swamp.
