WHITEY LOOKS FOR A JOB

Another ""Story Parade picture book"" which introduces the activities of a logging camp to Whitey, going on nie and hunting a job away from the ranch where he doesn't think much of the chores he is given. He's done a reasonable amount of trapping and skinning muskrats so applies for the post of ""cat skinner"" -- until he sees for himself what that job would be. A round of the lumber camp gives him a glimpse of the work of the sawyers, the teamsters, the caterpillar tractors -- and he winds up with a joke on himself as he takes a ride down the trough. Modernistic sketches by the author. Good yearn for small boys.
