KIRKUS REVIEW

One need not be an ardent naturalist to relish this delightful almanac on the life of a group of beavers. Glen Rounds manages to combine objectivity and imagination in his description of beavers, their ingenious and complex way of life, their cautious but friendly attitude to man, their games, picnics, education, and family life. And for those who consider the beaver -- renace to man's works, he enlists his voice on the side of the animal, who, he says, in spite of man, is doing much for the soil and water conservation of our country.
