KIRKUS REVIEW

The same blind pony of the author's previous The Blind Colt is stolen by horse thieves and then turned loose on the edge of the badlands. A faithful dog from the ranch joins the pony and together the two animals begin the seemingly hopeless trek home. The animals and the reader have a long slow time of it, for there are storms, fences, traps, prairie fires, rough country, and many dangers keep the two from the final path up the home ranch grounds.
