BENO The Riverburg Mayor

Good horseplay fiction with a foolish mayor who would take no advice from his council and accepted a wager that he could do any job. He became baker and the cookies rose to overflowing; he failed at teaching, at cobbling, and at all sorts of other things. And it makes the kind of nonsense that nine-year olds enjoy,- adults being awfully silly and inferior. Humility improves the mayor and he becomes a satisfactory official at last.
