KIRKUS REVIEW

The kidnaping of Anne Carlin on her honeymoon follows a pattern of some 20 other abductions and Deputy Assistant Commissioner for Crime Dawlish hares down to the French-Spanish border to rescue his countrywoman and keep her husband in line. The guests at the inn, the reputation of the brigand, the connection of jewels and paintings, the efforts to ransom Anne, add up to a breathless hunt.
