BASEBALL: The Fans' Game by Gordon S. (Mickey) Cochrane

BASEBALL: The Fans' Game

By

Pub Date: April 14th, 1939
Publisher: Funk & Wagnalls

Mickey"" Cochrane is no longer actively connected with baseball, but it was not long ago that Detroit was idolizing him for winning the World's Series for them for the first time. This is in part his personal story, filled with bits about famous players. And in part it is helpful advice on how to play the game, hints on plays in various positions and touches on ""inside ball"". A book which players of all grades should find useful, and which would help make the game more interesting and intelligible to those on the grand stands. Cochrane confesses that baseball has done a lot for him -- but his book suggests that he has done a lot for baseball as well.
