THE LITTLE TWIN

An accidentally won Four H Club contest is the goal in a thoroughly engaging younger brother story, illustrated with brown, orange and green drawings by the author. When the cow Rhoda's twins are born on their farm, Benny gets the larger of the two calves to train. Too young to have his own, Tommy nevertheless takes good care of Little Twin, suffers teasings and misfortunes and on the day of the contest when Benny's calf is lost, Tommy is told by mistake to enter in his brother's place and is judged best before he can get out the truth. Rightful recognition and hopes of winning next year are ample substitutes for the ribbon that must go to the next boy in line.
