This book, which made its debut in 1950, has been updated with two new stories and supplementary illustrations. It bridges the gap in time between biblical days and the present, giving brief pictures of contemporary life in Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon, Bethlehem, Iran, Turkey and Jordan. Tolerance is a byword throughout while brief stories illustrate the work of Christian missionaries and workers in countries where Mohammedanism and Judaism are predominant beliefs. It might serve to connect the teachings of church and school, but per se on a story book level, it is undistinguished.
