The author, a regular columnist for Good Housekeeping, has written another Obis is her fifth) book on approximately the same topic. . .and this one should appeal only to the""good housekeeping"" crowd, at best. Weinstein looks at the impact of money on life in the 1980's and says that new approaches are needed. Why? Because years ago, the norm was one breadwinner per family, but today it's a whole new ball game out there. People marry later, delay having children, rely on two incomes, and often have extended families and and multiple financial obligations. However, once you know how to use money and to communicate about it, your life will be easier. Each chapter looks at a different life stage: living alone, living together, marrying, living alone after divorce, second marriage, parenting, mid-life and later years. For each stage, advice is offered: if you live with a roommate, decide beforehand what to do with the lease when one person moves out. If you're single and dating, pay your own way. Don't expect to learn anything new here.
