KIRKUS REVIEW

Intrigue-adventure off the Panama Canal, by a newcomer who hasn't too much to learn. A young American, Curt, goes down to a banana plantation as Chief Engineer after the murder (passed off) of his predecessor and his wife. A staff of Germanic internationals all keeping him under close surveillance hinder his lone-hand game as he finds much forbidden fruit by way of a secret Nazi airbase, and a projected Blitz of the Canal. Nice background build-up for a smooth, if not new, story.
