A tour of what used to be our biggest state (not that it has gotten any smaller) covers all its areas and key cities in enthusiastic fashion, turning from the past to the present, from people to places, from events to changes. Beginning with San Antonio and ending with Houston, the hill country of the Balcones Fault, eastern Texas, Joiner and oil in the northeast of the state, the high plains of the Panhandle, the unspoiled lands beyond the Pecos, along the Rio Grande, Padre Island and Costa Rica come in between, along with Dallas, Fort Worth and other cities of importance. There's the increasingly modern technology along with the agrarian culture from pioneer days, the richness, self-sufficiency and independence, the space and expansion and the sense of the state as a whole as well as in its separate areas. There will be many photographs to illustrate the contents by Quincy Howe, Jr., and others. State-wide and localized interest here.
